The owners

familySimon and Andrea Dunne have owned Somerset Lodge since 2003. Simon ensures the smooth financial and operational running of the business and Andrea ensures that the rooms, decor and setting leave for a positive experience and pleasant stay at Somerset Lodge. The management of the Lodge is entrusted to our 2 managers, one of whom is available seven days a week from 8 A.M until 11 P.M

Simon’s background is a variety of sales, finance and advertising. Simon studied Commerce, is a member of MENSA and has an MBA. He visits Somerset Lodge on a daily basis to deal with the finances, advertising, phone calls and emails. Outside of this he is occupied with family, the currency markets or may be found on one of the local golf courses once or twice a week.

Andrea started her career at Perm Bank and later worked for Appletiser. She visits the Lodge 3 times a week to ensure all supplies and inventories from the restaurant to the rooms are in order and casts a careful eye over the business to make sure our appearance is as you, the guest would like it. The rest of the week is extremely busy with school and family commitments.

Simon and Andrea have 3 children, Conor 18, Ciara 17 and Andrew aged 14 all of whom are very active. Between the school runs and parental functions you might find Simon or Andrea at one of the many rowing regattas or rugby, cricket, hockey, squash or tennis matches that the kids are involved in.

General Manager

antoinetteAntoinette Gladwin is the General Manager at Somerset Lodge. She has worked her way up through the ranks after having joined us in 2005. Antoinette is the main “face” behind Somerset Lodge that you are likely to remember.

Antoinette is responsible for the office admin, invoicing and Pastel accounting. Antoinette will most likely be the voice at the other end of the phone, check you in and deal with payments.

She also likes to work 2 or 3 shifts a week in the bar to keep in touch with our guests and maintain a hands on approach to ensure the smooth running of Somerset Lodge.

Assistant manager

Camilla Solomon is assistant to Antoinette and is responsible for managing the Lodge on Antoinette’s 2 days off a week. Camilla joined Somerset Lodge in 2010 and will ensure your smooth check in,and deal with any other queries that you may have during your stay at Somerset Lodge on Antoinette’s days off. Camilla also works in the bar during the week when she is not on management duty. We are delighted to be able to add value to your visit with us

 

Other staff

mollyOutside of management Somerset Lodge also employs kitchen, cleaning, bar and garden staff. All are long serving and friendly and will endeavor to help you in whatever capacity they can.

A special mention goes to Molly, our longest serving staff member who has been with Somerset Lodge since 1997. Molly runs our kitchen and will be the face that you get to know when you have breakfast or dinner.

Her cooking is outstanding and special requests for vegetarian, halal or side portions are never a problem.
